Is it too hot and you are too far from the sea? Are you already tired of the usual stroll to the gelato parlour? Here’s a perfect solution for you! Toscana Resort Castelfalfi has decided to enliven its summer evenings with two unforgettable events that combine music, theatre and good cuisine, all to be experienced while relaxing in the fresh air of the Tuscan countryside!
On August 7 at 9:30 p.m., the plaza before the Romanesque Church of San Floriano will act as the theatre stage for the VIII Festival della Musica Suonata, which will offer a selection of treasured melodies that had become the symbol of the Roaring Twenties: a music event in its eighth edition created and organized by Stefano Montagnani, a musician from Montaione. The show will offer a selection of music pieces from the history of jazz, from Cole Porter to Bill Evans. Original arrangements, refined and elegant sounds, personal musical research combined with interplay and freedom of expression are the main ingredients of this ensemble. On this occasion, some among the most talented jazz musicians will unite. Musicians and performers from areas of Florence and Siena will be present, including Andrea Bruni at the drums, Micro Capecchi at the bass, Riccardo Bonciani at the piano, Stefano Montagnani at the guitar and Luca Signorini at the sax.
On August 28, instead, starting from 8:00 p.m., Utopia del Buongusto, a festival that combines food and theatre, will be on stage. The event will be subdivided in two sections which will begin with the dinner at 8:00 p.m. and will continue with the theatre show at 9:30 p.m. Originated from an idea by Andrea Kaemmerle and under the artistic direction and organization of the “Associazione Internazionale del Teatro Guascone” (International Association of the Gascon Theater), the show will bring to life “Viola”, interpreted by Elisabetta Salvatori and accompanied by Matteo Ceramelli at the violin, to tell the tale of the struggles of Dino Campana, author of famous poetic pages who died in an asylum in 1932 when he was just 46 years old. The show will bring to light the rejection of his family, caused by the mental illness of the poet, the relationship with his land – both loved and hated at the same time –, with his fellow citizens, the luminaries of the time and with his beloved Sibilla Aleramo.
Treat yourself with two unique evenings that can shatter the routine! But for those who cannot give up on their summer habits, Castelfalfi’s gelato parlour will be ready to welcome you with its many delicious and creamy flavours!
Events created in cooperation with the Municipal District of Montaione.
