Recognizing the challenges posed by climate change, we continue to invest in infrastructure and management initiatives focused on energy efficiency, the diversification of supply sources, and the management of emissions associated with our operations. Energy self-generation is a central component of our energy model, achieved through a wood-chip-fired biomass power plant, which enabled us to cover more than half of our energy needs by 2025.
In an environment characterized by high landscape and environmental quality, the prevention and control of pollution are crucial. To this end, we have managed to reduce our consumption of sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid by 40% (from 2022 to 2025) by adjusting dosing methods and upgrading our systems.
Water is a strategic resource for our operations. We independently manage —without relying on the public water supply — the entire system for the supply, storage, and distribution of water intended for both drinking and irrigation, through an infrastructure consisting of wells, storage reservoirs, and a dedicated treatment plant. The total storage capacity of the seven artificial lakes is 399,647 m³. These lakes, which support irrigation needs, play a role in regulating the water system and enhancing its resilience. We are continuously committed to strengthening existing infrastructure, with a particular focus on water consumption monitoring and control systems.
Due to the nature of our hospitality, food & beverage, and agricultural operations, we adopt an integrated approach to the management of resources and materials. We continue to strengthen partnerships with local suppliers and promote the use of our own products, all of which are organically certified. This commitment is further reflected in our increasing focus on sourcing products with sustainability certifications and the initiative launched regarding the packaging of single-use products, involving measures to reduce, redesign, or replace plastic solutions, where possible and in accordance with the European regulatory framework on packaging.
